Case Study - RNRMC

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity achieved a 40% cost saving with SharePoint and PaperCut.

About the charity:
The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is the principal charity of the Royal Navy. They exist to support sailors, marines and their families, for life.

Beneficiaries lie at the heart of The RNRMC's purpose; it is their duty to remain focused on their needs. Since 2007, they have funded projects and facilities that boost morale for those who serve today. They also distribute millions of pounds annually to military charities which care for children, families and veterans of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Business Challenge:
RNRMC has appointed a consultant to highlight areas for improvement, streamline processes and cut cost.

Document Management was identified as an issue. Documents were stored in various folders, on various drives. It was not easy to search and security was causing an IT overhead.

Another area was print. Print costs were spiralling; toner ordering and maintenance were laborious. Across three buildings, there were many small personal printers. The company was keen to move to remote desktop working and be able to print to any device with a 'print on release' feature

Case Study - LeAF Academy

LeAF Academy has cut their print costs by 40% within the first month of working with Copyrite

About the Company:
Bournemouth based LeAF Academy is a shared campus with common aims, creating the joint vision for achievement and attainment.
It consists of Elm Academy, Oak Academy and LeAF Studio. The Academy was established in 2012 and provides education to over 1300 students.

Business Challenges:
LeAF Academy needed to improve service, support and accountability of their print fleet. They had a large number of desktop printers, which were difficult and costly to maintain.
The Academy was spending large amounts on print every month. This was predominantly due to the following reasons:
  • It was not possible to monitor what was being printed and who was printing it
  • There were significant quantities of wasted paper
  • It was not possible to analyse trends between departments and sites
As the Academy offers innovative design technology courses there was a requirement to procure cutting edge 3D printers. A latest technology photo printer was also essential to support photography and media courses.

In Support of Darcy Ward fundraising

For those of you who have not heard of Darcy Ward, he was a bright young Australian speedway star for some years, riding for Poole Pirates speedway team and hotly tipped as a future world champion.

Sadly, however while racing in Poland in August 2015 he crashed and sustained life-changing spinal injuries, cutting short his sporting career. After initial treatment and care in Poland, Darcy returned to England for further treatment and rehabilitation, and then to his native Australia for ongoing treatment, where he has so far managed to regain some use of his arms.

There have been fundraising events for Darcy all over the speedway world often using his racing jacket number #43 and his main sponsor 'Monster' has contributed to his hospital bills.

While he was racing in England his home was in Sturminster Marshall, Dorset with Neil Middleditch, who has been Poole Speedway Team Manager for many years and a long term friend of our Director Phil Ford. Neil has organised numerous fund raising events and the most recent was in January at Bailey House. Copyrite were one of the main sponsors of the event. There was a charity auction held as part of the evening including some of Darcy's speedway kit, which raised over £1700; and the fundraising for the whole event so far totals in excess of £4000 (updated 15.2.16)

Press Release - Mission Critical for Law Firms

For the law firm, it's not so much about using technology to gain a competitive advantage but to be able to contunue to function.
That is one of the conclusions of a report commissioned by Wimborne-based Copyrite Business Solutions which considers 'The Future of the Office'.

"The delivery of service to the client doesn't always start and end with the lawyer", explained Copyrite Director, Ben Summerfield, "It has to be an intrinsic part of a law firm's modus operandi. The 'back office' and the administrative function have to be client focused as well".

The report poses the question: Can technology improve the way a firm interacts with the client, enhance the client experience, enable a firm to better reflect its culture, increase efficiency in the face of pressure on fees and margin? Or does the application of technology only really ensure a place on the starting grid?

Just published, the report also considers whether the paperless office will ever happen, and why with data protection and system security, having the highest and most impenetrable firewall isn't enough.

Included are the views of Hemant Amin (Charles Lucas & Marshall), Helen Archibald (Barlow Robbins), Adrian Bourne (Stevens & Bolton), Andrew Chalkley (Boyes Turner), Philip D'Arcy (Blandy & Blandy), Mark Lello (Parker Bullen), Nigel Maud (Hart Brown), Christopher Millar (Downs), Mike Parker (Wilsons Solicitors), Tim Read (Clifton Ingram), Frankie Tierney (Herrington & Carmichael), Valerie Toon (Mundays), Matthew Truelove (TWM Solicitors), Ian Wood-Smith (Field Seymour Parkes).

You can download a complimentary copy of the report on our website.
