Mission Christmas

When Copyrite's Tracy Jolliffe and Andrea Chivers first suggested that their colleagues might like to donate to Wave105's Mission Christmas instead of buying a secret santa gift this year, they didn't expect the idea to be quite as popular!

With everyone's donations gathered in and also boosted by a donation from the Directors, they had great fun spending the money, and Andrea, Tracy, and engineer Arthur Dibben delivered 71 toys this week, to a drop off point at Sainsburys Castlepoint where Wave105 were broadcasting live, and where Arthur was also roped into a live interview as Copyrite's 'official' spokesperson!

Tracy told us "..we have been overwhelmed by your generosity. It's a nice feeling that a child living in poverty, through no fault of their own, will have a gift (and for some, it will be their only one) to open on Christmas morning, thanks to your kindness. .....Here's hoping that they reach their target of 64,000 presents required, so that every under privileged child in the Wave 105 area will receive a present on the day."

Well done to the girls for suggesting this super idea.

There is still time to donate to this great cause, with many drop off points open until this Sunday 13th December

Tracy and Arthur deliver the goods!

Arthur speaks out.

Press Release - Paris Smith & HotDocs

Forty hours a month have been saved by the property finance team at Paris Smith since the law firm invested in powerful software which is used to create documents more quickly and eliminates any risk of error in the process.

Called in to identify ways of increasing productivity, minimise risk, and improve efficiency, Copyrite Business Solutions helped Paris Smith to implement a full electronic document management system which provides the latest in document security and is easy to use.

As part of their review, Copyrite proposed to automate the document generation at the firm's property finance team with HotDocs software.

Alan Cousins, Practice Director at Paris Smith explained: "Volume of work always poses challenges but a 40 hour per month time saving for a team of 6 people has made a huge difference. We are looking forward to the solutions benefitting the firm more widely as further departments move over to the new system."

Ben Summerfield, Director at Copyrite commented: "It is all about the process - once we understand a firm's current workflow, we can then take steps to improve it and make it seamless. We are now working with Paris Smith to integrate the document generation with the document management which would further enhance and complete the process."

Since implementation, Paris Smith have created an internal 'Technology Champions Club', where groups from across all departments meet to discuss best practice and innovate ways of using the toolset to further benefit their work and Paris Smith as a firm. Such meetings also facilitate collaboration between the departments and expedite the process of technology change from within the firm.

We are Sailing. . .

We were pleased to sponsor Copyrite's resident father and son sailing team, Ken & Chris Cheney, when they competed in the Dart 18 European Championships in Grosetto, Italy, earlier this month.

Their boat was given a Copyrite makeover and then transported all the way to Italy in a 40' articulated lorry.

The Dart 18 is a small catamaran first designed and built in 1975. The competition involves 10 races over 7 days, and points are awarded in the same order as the finishing position, so 1st place gets 1 point, 2nd place gets 2 points, and so on. The worst 2 scores are removed and the remaining points determine the finishers overall place.

With 70+ entries, our boys did well finishing in 31st place, but their best position was 14th!

Ken told us "Every day the sun shone and the temperature was about 40 deg C, the wind was SW force 4-5, and the sea temperature was 25-30 deg C. We were sailing in shorts and T-shirts, it was perfect sailing weather!"

A Successful Operation?

Copyrite performed a successful operation at the Royal College of Surgeons, London in April.
No, not that sort of operation but the latest event in our Lunch & Learn series!

Director Ben Summerfield introduced Copyrite and set the scene by explaining the benefits of digitising and automating business processes within a legal firm. As a take-away Ben created Copyrite Top Tips - where to start streamlining processes to cut cost, improve efficiency and achieve other benefits such as mitigate risk and boost your green credentials.

The second presentation focused on automated document creation at Paris Smith. By using clever software they were able to automate the creation of contracts in their conveyancing department. As a result they managed to cut down errors in contracts to zero and increase billable hours for their fee earners.

This was followed by our key note speaker David Gordon. David owns DG Law, a successful legal practice which embraces the paperless office. David shared his reasons why he believes in paper-light working and what benefits using Worldox have brought to them.

Last but not least was a demonstration of Worldox by Ray Zwiefelhofer. Worldox is a legal document management system used in over 5000 firms. It highlighted how easy it is to save and retrieve documents and the seamless integration with Outlook.

With the 'Learn' part of the seminar over, it was time to 'Lunch' and network. Tasty hot and cold food was served to finish off the event.

Good for Glanvilles

A law firm has managed to achieve a 61% drop in printing costs in just seven months, and reduced the amount of waste paper which has to be re-cycled

Glanvilles, with 5 offices in Hampshire, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight, wanted to be able to analyse what was being printed and who was doing the actual printing. With the PaperCut software introduced by Copyrite, Glanvilles have been able to establish a set of rules such as default to double-sided printing for jobs over 2 pages, and to ensure that emails and web pages are printed out in black & white

PaperCut produces a detailed analysis by user, department, and office, while the implementation of 'Find Me' printing ensures greater security of confidential information and reduces waste created by uncollected print jobs.
