Press Release - Paris Smith Solutions

Embedded Cost Recovery and Scanning solutions at Paris Smith increases productivity.

The introduction of PaperCut Print Management reduces waste and print cost.

Paris Smith LLP is one of the largest independent firms of solicitors in Central Southern England, based in landmark offices in Southampton. Its clear vision of the future has forced the firm to adapt to the ever increasing demands and pressures on businesses and individuals.

Ian Stewart, Copyrite Director said "During a review of all multi-function devices, it became apparent that the external hardware cost recovery boxes and scanning stations could not achieve the productivity levels required and were expensive to support. Environmental issues are a key concern of Paris Smith so improvements in waste reduction would be a clear benefit of replacing these solutions"

Equitrac has been replaced with embedded PaperCut for copy and print control to support Cost Recovery while embedded m3i (a scanning interface)is used instead of both eCopy and Equitrac to enable scanning to email and scanning to file. Integration with the corporate accounts system was critical.

PaperCut Print Management

The software aims to:
  • Reduce the amount of waste
  • Understand how much is spent on print
  • Understand existing print behaviour
  • Establish a set of rules to reduce print costs (e.g. email to Black and White printing)
  • Implement 'Find Me' for greater security of confidential information and reduce waste of uncollected jobs
  • Enable recharging for copies and print
PaperCut's core purpose is to track all printing in a network environment. It keeps detailed print logs for all users printing activity which helps to understand printing at all levels of the business, such as by user, printer, group, department, office or shared account. PaperCut ChargeBack is a key feature for Paris Smith as both printing and copying costs can be recharged to client accounts.

Mike Baynham's Big Adventure for the MS Society

Mike at work driving the minibus for MS
Copyrite's Mike Baynham will be 70 Years Young in September and will be retiring from the company.

To Celebrate both events Mike has embarked on a major challenge this summer to walk, ON HIS OWN, the whole of the 630 mile (or 1014km) South West Coast Path which reaches from Minehead in Somerset, to Poole in Dorset, taking in some of the south west's most amazing scenery on the way.
He wants to use this opportunity to raise money for a good cause and so has chosen Copyrite's 2014 adopted charity, The Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurological condition which affects around 100,000 people in the UK, including Mike's mother Nora, who lived with MS for 33 years. Mike helps by driving a minibus for the local division of the MS society in West Parley, but he would also like to raise as much money as possible from donations, and so he has set up a page on Virgin Moneygiving. If you would like to help Mike, all donations will be gratefully recieved.

All being well Mike aims to complete this challenge by the end of August. We will be providing updates on his progress and wish him every success in this admirable adventure and for his future as a Retiree.
